Economic & Demographic Data Subscription Service

IPR has spent many years developing extensive Demographic and Economic databases, covering all major countries in the world. The databases synthesize data from numerous publicly available and proprietary sources including governmental, intergovernmental, and international sources such as the World Bank, OECD, ILO, United Nations, IMF, US Bureau of Labor Statistics, US Census Bureau, US Bureau of Economic Analysis, Eurostat, national statistical offices, and country statistical yearbooks, amongst others.

The various data sources are aligned to common sets of definitions and classification systems, and are reconciled before they become a permanent part of the databases. The result is a consistent set of over 1500 different demographic and economic indicators for over 200 countries that are used to support IPR’s OA&F Market Models, Market Sizings, Opportunity Forecasts, and Early Warning System solutions.

The Demographic databases provide historical data back to1989, while the Economic databases extend back to1960 for many of the countries. Depending on the demographic and economic measures of interest, the databases cover anywhere from 94 to 213 countries. IPR also develops projections for the key demographic and economic series that are then used to support further data analysis, market modeling, market sizing, and forecasting associated with our client projects. The databases are updated continually as new data is published, either on a high-frequency monthly or quarterly basis, or less regularly on a semi-annual or annual basis.

How do IPR’s Demographic and Economic databases differ from other data available?

  • The databases are developed based on the integration/synthesis of multiple sources, have been aligned to reflect common classification systems, and take into account source reliability
  • They use international standard classification systems, rather than proprietary or obsolete classifications, facilitating reliable international comparisons
  • They provide reasonable and carefully considered forecasts along all dimensions that reflect the relationship to economic indicators, as well as the interrelationships that exist among the demographic measures, such as the industry/occupation groupings for employment

The databases are used for a variety of purposes by IPR to support our clients efforts to perform the following planning and forecasting activities: develop estimates for specific professional groups or target audiences; estimate business process activity and growth as driven by occupations within industries; develop market models, market sizing estimates, and opportunity forecasts for products/services driven by underlying demographics and economics; and to develop Early Warning Systems.
