Howard K. Seabrook
The arrival of a departmental Apple IIe during an undergraduate degree at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne (1981 – 1984) was a fortuitous break, not only in helping with statistics assignments but in opening the way for his first job in the IT industry. After returning to education for an MBA at Durham University (1991 – 1992), Howard joined Toshiba Information Systems, in his first formal role with a planning and research remit.
Outside of IPR a lot of Howard’s time revolves around his family and linked activities, such as rugby coaching. But he does have a few private passions of his own; a Triumph motorbike, a small boat on the River Thames and an ever growing collection of old books. And as his children grow up some dormant interests are being rekindled, marked by a return to Europe’s less vertical ski slopes.
